I feel energized each day to work with families and I would choose this profession a million times over. So much can be accomplished with creativity, grit, problem-solving, laughter and a keen appreciation for the uniqueness, strengths and journey of each individual. I enjoy brainstorming creative solutions with families that are even better than either one of us could have developed on our own to make a real-world difference in people’s lives. This kind of collaboration brings me a deep sense of purpose and I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity. I live with my husband and daughter in Orangeville. I enjoy travelling, technology, getting together with the girls at book club and advocating for communication health.
Kindrey Rowland is a registered Speech-Language Pathologist with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) and Clinic Director. Kindrey founded the Orangeville Speech & Language Clinic, a dynamic and family focused private practice, in 1996.
Kindrey is an award winning Speech-Language Pathologist, graduating first in her class both academically and clinically in 1995. Kindrey was selected by the Ontario Brain Injury Association as a provincial nominee for the Award of Excellence in Brain Injury Rehabilitation – Health Care Provider of the Year 2015, 2020, 2021. Kindrey is a dedicated full-time therapist as well as an Assistant Clinical Professor (Adjunct) at McMaster University.
Kindrey received her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Western Ontario in 1995 and her Bachelor of Science in Biology & Psychology from McMaster University in 1992. She has 25 years of clinical experience providing services to children and adults with communication needs. Kindrey holds her national certification with Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC) and she is a member of The Ontario Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (OSLA).
Kindrey has a special interest in providing community based cognitive-communication assessment, treatment and consultation to children and adults with acquired brain injury. She was chair of OSLA’s Acquired Brain Injury Interest Group from 2012- 2018 and is a member of OSLA’s Auto Insurance Interest Group. Kindrey is a founder and Co-Chair of the Headwaters Acquired Brain Injury Group (HABI), a local support group under the umbrella of the Ontario Brain Injury Association. She is also a member of the Ontario Rehab Alliance (ORA).
Kindrey has extensive experience working with children and adults with complex communication needs. Areas of practice include speech (e.g., apraxia and phonological disorders), preschool and school-age language, (e.g., reading, writing, speaking, listening), stuttering, swallowing and cognitive-communication disorders.
Kindrey is committed to professional development and has also achieved:

- Individual Authorizer ADP (Assistive Devices Program)
- Lidcombe Program of Early Stuttering Intervention (training with Lidcombe founders at the University of Sydney and at the Montreal Fluency Centre)
